INTEGRATED STRUCTURAL HEALTH INSPECTION AND MONITORING SERVICES

Bureau Veritas partners with Osmos Group to create the next generation of integrated structural health inspection and monitoring services

Paris-La Défense, France, March 14, 2019 – Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce today the signature of a strategic partnership with OSMOS Group, a specialist in the field of infrastructure monitoring and subsidiary of EREN Groupe. The aim of the partnership is to develop the next generation of integrated structural health inspection and monitoring services, driven by advanced analytics, for the building and infrastructure market.

This complementary partnership will combine Bureau Veritas’ global footprint, international market access and deep industry knowledge with OSMOS Group’s structural asset management system, based on automated data collection, machine learning and artificial intelligence. In the context of this collaboration, Bureau Veritas will be able to leverage OSMOS Group’s state-of-the-art analytical tools, equipment and know-how to advance its own independent inspection services.

OSMOS Group will provide optic fiber-based sensors, so-called Optical Strands, an algorithm-based data acquisition system as well as relevant training for Bureau Veritas’ employees based on its solid track record and expertise in the field of structural behavior analysis. It will enable Bureau Veritas to improve the monitoring of the lifetime of its clients’ assets, and to collect, secure, and analyze the obtained information via an online interface.

Gianclaudio OLIVA, Market Leader Building and Infrastructure at Bureau Veritas, stated: “Thanks to this partnership, Bureau Veritas will be able to deploy integrated inspections more efficiently and test various assets at the right time and place. It will enable us to help customers improve safety and reliability of their assets while optimizing operational and maintenance costs. In short, it will bring continuous safety as well as operational and maintenance risk management to a new level.”

Patrice PELLETIER, Deputy CEO of OSMOS Group, in charge of international development, added: “We are very excited to partner with Bureau Veritas, combining their recognized expertise with our technologies and know-how. This collaboration constitutes an important milestone in our international development and is in line with our objective of bringing the most comprehensive and integrated solutions to customers. It responds to the evolving challenges of the market, where there is an increasing need for real time monitoring and quick, efficient action when needed.”

About OSMOS Group

OSMOS is a subsidiary of EREN Groupe. Founded in 2006, OSMOS is a recognized specialist in the field of infrastructure monitoring (structural behavior analysis). The company offers a wide range of construction monitoring solutions for the construction, infrastructure and industry sectors.

OSMOS designs and manufactures the Optical Strand, an innovative fiber optic sensor system. This technology allows monitoring, detection and detection of deformations and potential weaknesses of different types of buildings, infrastructure, and industrial equipment. With the assistance of engineers, mathematicians and data management experts, OSMOS is also developing its own algorithms for data analysis and interpretation. SAFE Works, a software package developed by OSMOS, enables customers and engineers to visualize, analyze and interpret infrastructure deformations. The latest software developed by OSMOS, SAFE Traffic, used in conjunction with Optical Strands sensors, provides both bridge and viaduct monitoring engineering and dynamic weigh-in-motion (WIM) weighing. OSMOS 'monitoring engineering solutions have already been implemented by its customers in both the public and private sectors in more than 20 countries.
